Land Rover Discovery 2
Discovery 2 td5
219,000 but has had the later style 15p engine fitted. Mileage on engine around 90,000
Mot until middle of December 2017 with no advisories,
Purchased completely standard around 5months ago with the intention of getting ready to go offroad.
No service history unfortunately however the engine sounds spot on and pulls very well, it doesn't smoke and doesn't use any oil or water and it has recently been serviced. I only have the paperwork for what I've done, although it has had brakes all round, new battery and new starter so the previous owner has spent money on it and not neglected it.
all appears solid underneath, it's had 3/4 chassis legs welded properly.
Everything works inside, all windows, hill decent, traction control, abs, heaters are spot on, even the cd changer and steering wheel controls work!
The truck was not used off road before I purchased it, I have just had a new fuel regulator fitted as this started leaking but now sorted.
The minor mods I have carried out include;
Egr blanking kit, terrafirma straight through centre pipe, I caught the backbox whilst out so had to be cut off although this has made little difference to the exhaust note- it's fairly loud under load, just from the centre box being removed but I've kept this for the next owner if they wish to refit it.
I had some insa turbo mud tyres fitted which are awesome but they are pretty noisy on the road, these have lifted the diffs up abit aswell due to the increased tyre height, I had a snorkel fitted although even with this I've not taken it in deep water just incase.
The front bumper was damaged so has been removed and left the steel backing in place which doesn't look to bad to be honest, plus gives a little more clearance on the front end.
Only real negatives are the lack of paperwork, there's some light scratches now but some will polish out, small dent at the rear, interior showing its age and I only have one key, door catches noises but all work fine.
it's an old landrover at the end of the day.
All in all a very capable truck, taken me a lot of places I didn't think it would and surprised a few people aswell, proven to be very reliable during my ownership, everything works on it, starts first time every time and it's still pleasant to drive.
