This is the official government account of the Battle of Flanders, written by Ian Hay and published by His Majesty’s Stationery Office (HMSO). The narrative is based on the official despatches of Lord Gort, Commander in Chief, and is an attempt to describe, in as untechnical language as possible, the experiences of the BEF between September 1939 and June 1940. This is a paperback, printed on wartime economy paper, in excellent condition although the staples have rusted, which is common for publications of this type and age.
