VW Golf MK2 1.6D Type 19

Location: East Midlands - Nottingham
Sell Price: £1,200

Description:

Hello! This is my lovely mars red type 19 MK2 Golf. It has the sought after 1.6D N/A engine that appears to run on fresh air and is sweet as a nut. Choke is present for cold starts. Car is currently sat on 129k miles. Even has power steering!

The rear handbrake cables and brake shoes were replaced a few months ago. The body work of the car is tatty, with surface rust scabs dotted around, thin paint and the odd ding, but i think the wear really suits the car. Its not a show and shine winner by any means, but a beautiful car nonetheless.

Interior is immaculate, every switch works as expected. The car has a private plate on it, originally a C reg and the original reg is etched on to every glass panel on the car (all original). When I took the car on it had a Jetta front end swap, I have hunted high and low and found an original 7 slat front grill for the car, with an original chrome badge. I have installed a heckblende on the rear of the car too.

She is currently sat on a set of 1980's Lotus Eclat wheels that suit it so well its unreal. all good matching continental tyres, 20mm adapters and they fit perfectly. They really set the car off and I always get comments and questions about the wheels. The car is also running raceland coilovers, not too harsh and plenty of adjustment left in them.

Bad bits, to be expected of a 32 year old car.

Logbook will need applying for. The lad I took this car on from stated he had the full logbook, and a stack of history for the car, but due to moving home couldnt find everything then and there and that he would post everything forward to me. I havent heard back from the guy in months. I have a short stack of MOT certificates and some receipts for servicing parts.

Both front sills need chopping and welding (as pictured)

Rust hole in the boot (as pictured)

Needs tracking

Clutch is a bit high on the pedal, never slips though. Have a brand new clutch and release bearing to go with the car at point of sale, along with some servicing bits.

I will be very, very sad to see this little thing go. At the moment I do 60 miles a day to work, this poor thing sees the light of day maybe twice a month, and I could really use the money for other ventures. So, sadly, I think its time she went to a new home. The car drives, starts and stops as expected, gets plenty of attention and will make someone very proud to be the owner.

Im located 5 minutes from J28 of the M1, Id be happy to take more photos, or to arrange any viewings for the car if needed. Thanks!
