Introduction

Here we have an excellent example of one of the last E30 3 Series Convertibles.

This is one of the very rare, Neon Blue Motorsport Design Convertibles.

They made only 200 Design Edition Convertibles, approx 150 Blue and 50 Green. So this is 1 of 150 examples, making it one of the rarest E30’s.

Bodywork

This example is finished in Neon Blue Metallic.

The bodywork and paintwork are in lovely condition throughout, a lovely deep shine, the colour really goes well with this shape and the Black soft top.

Look closer and you will see this example is remarkably solid and original. There is no rust on this car, feel around all front and rear arches, you just get a lovely solid lip.

Look under the doors, sills, its all just as good.

Obviously, on any classic convertible, the condition of the roof is important. The roof on this car is in good condition, the rear screen is clear, the roof is manual so opens in seconds with ease.

Interior

Inside this car comes with the ‘Design Edition’ Grey leather sports interior.

The 1.8i engine starts and runs perfectly.

These engines are very eager and smooth, providing ample power in this relatively light car.

These E30’s are a delight to drive, you really how well planted these cars are, but you can still have to rear wheel fun when needed. The suspension is not harsh, yet they handle very well.

The BMW E30 convertible is now getting the recognition it deserves. they really are one of the best usable classic convertibles you can buy now. This example with its low mileage, limited edition status and excellent service history, should prove a good investment going forward.
