this specimen was recovered from the chaco province. argentina.
wich is 600 miles northwest of the capital buenos aires. it is largely comprised of
iron and has been classified as an IAB octahedrite meteorite
it was first discovered in 1576 and radio carbon dating of charred wood from the impact site has
confirmed that the meteorite fell between 5000-6000 years ago. to date over 100 tones has been recorded.
