Vauxhall Astra MK2 Estate

Started life as a standard 1.3 but now has the below modifications, also cool to note i have the original service record.

Fully Rebuilt Redtop C20XE - When stripped the garage informed me that one of the pistons had melted at some point so a new set was needed we then discovered that the piston were bigger than standard. At this point I decided to replace all four. She starts first turn every time and sounds beautiful, Rebuild was done just over a year ago and included all gaskets and an original oil pump. From memory i think the gearbox was an F18.

At the same time as the engine I decided to have a custom stainless steel exhaust system made and fitted. This gives the car a real deep rumble but still gives it the standard look from the rear.

Front Brake set up is from a Astra Mk2 Gte and ive left the rears on original drums. She stops just fine but up to the new owner if they wanted to upgrade the rear.

Front Suspension is from memory on koni shocks and lowered springs and the rear has adjustable shocks and lowered springs. This car is low and you do feel the bumps in the road. Rear wheels sit nicely in the arches as you can see.

Interior is original except the front Manta Recaro front seats which are very rare in this colour. As you can see the drivers bolster needs repairing. The boot has been carpeted in black. The rear trim in the boot is cracked on both sides but could be repaired. ive just not had time. Astra GTE steering wheel. Early MK2 Astra Sri Clocks.

Wheels are genuine Borbet A worth a mint on there own. These have been fully refurbed and look superb, not a mark on them.

The body has had extensive work with new wings, rear arches and also a new rear quarter on the n/s aswell as sill work. Car was also fully resprayed in the original red. The paint job is pretty good but not perfect. bumpers have a few marks on them again not perfect but would not need much. The shell is very clean with no rust.

There are a couple of things that want doing. Speedo cable ideally wants replacing as very temperamental and also wants the sump gasket replacing as i made the mistake of using the cork gasket which does leak. Drivers roof runner needs a new clip and front. All very easy and cheap fixes I just dont have time.

Ive Spent well over 7k on this car and it really does look good and gets attention due to being a rare mk2 estate. She looks great but also goes very well as to be expected for a C20XE. Im only selling due to not using, ive only made one show this year and the car sits on the drive the rest of the time. With a third child on the way i dont see it getting any better.

The logbook is still registered as the standard 1.3 and upto the new owner if they want to change. Insurance is reasonable on classic with all the modifications declared and an agreed value of 10k it only costs me £21.50 a month
