2004 BMW E60 530i
Location: Scotland - Forfar
Swap Value: £1.000+
Model:
BMW 5 Series
Year:
2004
Mileage:
142,000 miles
Private Individual
Description:
Currently sitting at 142,000 miles on the clock. MOT Until January 2026, Unfortunately no service book, but I have contacted BMW and they have it on their Database as having a Service from them from 2005 - 2009.
The same owner had it from 2009 to 2025, It literally sat in his drive way from 2019 to 2025 too.
I purchased it in a relatively sorry state, even had to get it transported to myself. I have spent over what I paid for the car in repairs, and its now ALMOST 100% perfect. Interior is in really good condition, exterior for the age is in good condition.
Things I've Fitted / Fixed.
1: ICV Refurbished
2: Full Service (Oil / Fuel / Air / Spark / Both Pollen)
3: Expansion Tank + 2 Bar cap replaced, along with new coolant
4: DISA Valve Rebuild Kit (X8R) Kit
5: CCV System Replaced
6: Valve Cover Gasket Replaced
7: Gearbox Serviced twice + Mechatronic Sleeve Kit
8: Rear Passenger Ball Joint, Booked into the garage on the 30th June
9: Rear Integral Link, Booked into the garage on the 30th June
10: Rear Driver Wishbone
11: Front Tie Rod
12: Front Pads + Brake Wear
13: 2 Rear Tyres
14: Replacement and Coded SGM Module (Still has Issues, See below)
15: Washer Pump Replaced
16: New Passenger Wing Mirror
17: Replacement 82mm Badges
18: NOT FITTED, but I do have the Water Pump and Thermostat, Which will come with the car
19: Recently returned from BMW for the Battery Recall, where they removed some of the floor plan and rewelded again, and fixed said battery cable
20: Replaced Front Tracking rod end
21: Replaced both rear upper arms
22: Replaced 1 Parking Sensor
23: Replaced the Drivers Door and SBSL Module, recoded and still the airbag issue persists
Receipts for all parts above are in the folder.
Now to the Issues
1: 3rd gear has an ever so slight raised RPM, when taking it easy, Sport or Manual mode doesn't seem to be affected.
2: Restraint System Fault, I have narrowed it down to either the BST (Battery Safety Terminal), IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor) This all started when I leaned down to hard when exiting the car. I have replaced 2 modules in the car SBSL and TEFA but still the issue persists, the above is what I would go with next
Only reason I am getting rid of, is the wee man is starting High School, no longer have to do 20 mile round trips every day now for his primary school. And I cannot be bothered diagnosing the Airbag issue
Car is sold as seen, please bring someone competent with you to check over the car.
