In 2024 - Downpipes, middle box removed & remap by the amg masters MSL so it sounds like roaring thunder under load, no drone on motorway and not obnoxious every day driving around town as back boxes still in place, still easily returns 30mpg with cruise control set at 80mph (sits at 2k revs barely idling over) on a 150+ mile run with a couple step-down overtakes. Previous owner said the uprated head-bolts were changed out prior to his ownership, no paperwork to back this up.
It has the full top spec available at the time from factory back in 2008.
MOT till 2026 December - Mention of a minor oil leak which confused me as it doesn’t use any oil at all so I took it into garage 20/12/25 and they found a brake pipe is split going to the rear passenger side so i’ve repaired (with proof) have a video showing the oil mess around the undercover of the car coming from the brake pipe and a picture with invoice of new brake pipes for passenger side and with fluid replacement and bleed out. Engine bay area was smoke tested and jet washed underneath as well as brake cleaner sprayed and wiped down to inspect for any engine oil leaks, none to report.
Any inspections welcome.
Just spent over a grand on tyres, pads, service and the brake pipe replacement + labour in order to get it ready for a drive to europe from newcastle which was around 2000miles, this has made me contemplate whether a 6.2 is for me as a daily as I do around 1000miles a month.
Only issue is the advisory suspension arms have minimal play, slight creek from left side now and then first thing on a cold morning, mot tester said just swap them out summertime for a fresh pair which are only £250ish from merc.
