2004 Ford Transit T350 2.4 TDDi, 36,000 Miles, 6 Months MOT
Please Note, This is still being used as a family minibus, Wheelchair Transport and Motorbike Transporter (If weather Permits,,LOL)..Amd will be driving to and From Lossiemouth In scotland (800 miles Round trip) If not sold Soon..
I was told from the last owner (Caton St Pauls School in Lancaster) That they think it had a new Speedo fitted at 35,000 miles but they couldnt be sure as the garage they used as closed down, If this is true it would make it about 70,000 miles which is still nothing for these older TDDI Engines I've been told..So
I will describe it the best way I can but Bear in Mind its a MK6 Transit Van with seats!!.
There is NO TACHOGRAPH And is a Transit 350 on the logbook so Normal licence is all thats needed, I have been stopped once or twice with no issues and I have a normal car Licence as i only use it for my own use (10 Kids and a Motorbike Addiction!!)..
Engine/Gearbox.......
The engine is in great condition with No unusal noises and No smoke, Its the 90 BHP TDDi Model so No expensive Repairs or injectors to worry about. The alternator was replaced with a Brand new Bosch Unit along with a New Drive belt and Tensioner/Guide Wheel, All of which are still under Warrenty. The Engine was Fully serviced when I bought it 6 months ago with New Oil, Oil filter, Air Filter and Fuel Filter. It Starts first time cold or hot and has never let me down in the last 6 months/7,000 Miles. The gearbox is 5 Speed and the clutch was replaced By the school that owned it before me and Selects all gears perfect with no Noises.
Brakes/Suspension.....
All the brakes are working fine and stop the bus with ease, Handbrake holds on hills and releases straight away, Ive have not heard any unwanted noises from the suspension and with a full load of 9 people/Bike it bearly moves the suspension.
Tyres....
Obviously its a Minibus so Tyres have to be under 10 Years old so most of the tyres are less than 4 years old and all Hold air fine (I have not needed to put any air in any tyre since a bought it), The Drivers side rear tyres are Brand new and done about 2,000 miles as We had a puncture in scotland deep in the Cairngorms National Park so Had both Tyres replaced by a mobile tyre Fitting service.
Bodywork....
The bodywork is in reasonable condition with the usual rust scabs that transits of this Vintage suffer from. It cleans up well enough for its age and the lower sill area has been treated with a Stonechip Textured paint (I think?), But there are no sharp edges or holes in the bodywork so it is doing better than most transits of its era....
Interior....
I WILL ADD PICTURES ASAP.. The front passenger seat was removed to fit a Disabilty Seat for my Husband and this has been removed so There is no Front Passenger seat (Easy to find on ebay!), But dont worry as there is another 8 in the Back to choose from. The Rear has been carpeted to make it a little warmer and is in good condition. All windows in the back Are fully working and open and lock fine. Remote Central Locking works fine and all doors lock and unlock with the fob (First bus ive owned that does!!!)
I have driven this bus about 7,000 miles in the last 6 Months and like I say above If it dosnt sell soon will be driving it to Lossiemouth in scotland and Back to wigan which over 800 miles and Wont think twice about it getting the job done as its a Honest workhorse.
BAD POINTS....ITS A 24 YEAR OLD TRANSIT SO IT DOSE HAVE THEM!!!
There is a Crack in the windscreen which was about 4 inch long from the very bottom of the windscreen when I bought it and is now about 5 inch long but isnt quite in your line of view so not sure about the MOT But it passed before?.
When we had the 2 rear tyres changed in the depths of the Cairngorms in scotland by a mobile tyre fitter, He had the right tyres and charged us over £280 but he couldnt Balance them due to the van he was using was set up for HGV (or something daft?), So it vibrates at 38 and stops at 45 so defintly a balance issue as it never did this before but I have never had time to nip in to get it sorted so the price reflects this (On a honest note, Ive done at least 2,500 miles since the tyres where replaced and i kind of got used to it).
The reason I am selling it is I need a smaller vehicle with less seats as 3 of my children are of age they don’t need to be carried around anymore..
Yes I have the V5, MOT, Invoices for repairs and is ready for its new Owner to use as a Disabled Bus, Minibus, Motorbike Transporter, Campervan Conversion, Big Van And perfect for Tip runs as its a Family Vehicle with seats or what ever your imaginition Craves!!!.
