Up for sale is my Citroën C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 HDi 6-speed. I'm not going to pretend it's immaculate because it definitely isn't, but it's an honest, cheap family car that starts first time, runs well and drives absolutely fine.

I'll be honest... I actually hated it when we bought it. It was the Mrs that wanted it! But once you're behind the wheel it's just like driving any other Citroën. Comfortable, easy to drive and surprisingly practical.

The good bits:

✅ Starts, runs and drives well
✅ CD player works perfectly
✅ Interior is tidy for the age – seats and carpets are in good condition
✅ Fold-down trays on the back of the front seats for the kids
✅ Loads of storage compartments everywhere – brilliant for family life, DIY jobs or tip runs
✅ Previously owned by a local private ambulance company transporting disabled patients, so it's been very well maintained mechanically.

The honest bits:

Paintwork has seen much better days – lacquer peel, scratches, dents and the usual age-related battle scars.

Rear passenger quarter has damage from a previous owner (pictured). No idea how they managed it!

Boot won't stay open because the gas struts have given up, so don't let it headbutt you.

Electric handbrake switch is broken (my lad managed that one!). It doesn't bother me because it releases automatically when you drive away and reapplies when you switch the ignition off.

Then there's the artwork... someone has scratched random messages into the paint including "Chow Chow Real Smooth" and "Everybody Freeze." I can only assume they were writing the next chart-topping hit!
