MG TF Cool Blue Limited Edition – MOT'd – Ready to Enjoy

Up for sale is my MG TF Cool Blue Limited Edition.

I bought the car from my uncle, who had owned it for around 15 years. During that time it was mostly kept in storage, but he regularly started it and kept it looked after. Sadly, after losing his partner he had to move house and no longer had anywhere to keep it, so I bought it with the idea of my girlfriend enjoying it over the summer. Unfortunately, it's just not her cup of tea, so I've decided to sell it and simply get back what I've spent.

Since buying it, I've carried out the following work:

- Fresh MOT
- Brand new stainless steel rear exhaust (£250)
- Pair of new rear brake calipers
- New passenger side rear suspension arm
- Brand new battery (around £90)

It's a lovely little convertible that's great fun to drive, especially with the roof down.

Being the Cool Blue Limited Edition, it benefits from the desirable black and blue interior, blue hood, unique alloy wheels, Momo gear knob and factory auxiliary gauges.

The hood is in excellent condition, the rear screen is clear and it's completely watertight.

As you'd expect for a car of this age, there are a few cosmetic imperfections. The passenger front wing has been replaced at some point due to rust and the paint finish isn't perfect, but it's still very presentable. The driver's seat bolster also has a small tear.

I'd rather be completely honest about the few faults it has:

- The clutch release (thrust) bearing is noisy when the clutch pedal is pressed. It doesn't affect the way the clutch works and drives absolutely fine.
- The engine management light occasionally comes on, but it doesn't affect how the car drives. The garage cleaned the lambda sensor and reset the fault when they fitted the exhaust, but it has returned intermittently. I've not investigated it any further.
- The heater blower only works on the highest setting, which is a common resistor fault.
- The central locking isn't working, believed to be a relay behind the dashboard.

Overall, this is a genuine, honest little classic that's ready to be enjoyed for the rest of the summer. It isn't a brand-new car and it does have a few jobs for the next owner, but it's solid, presentable, drives well and has already had a good amount of money spent on it getting it back on the road.

I'm not interested in hiding anything or wasting anyone's time. If you're looking for an affordable modern classic that you can enjoy straight away and improve over the winter, this is well worth a look.

No silly offers – I think it's priced fairly considering the work that's been done.
