Putting my BMW up to see what swaps are about. I've owned this car for around 6 years, since roughly 53k miles, so I know the car extremely well.
It's had a very easy life with me. I've always been mechanically sympathetic with it — I generally keep it below 2,000rpm, never launch it or thrash it, and I'm extremely careful with the clutch. When changing gear I always let the clutch come fully up before applying the accelerator. Even pulling away in first I normally let the car move on the clutch rather than giving it loads of throttle. Anyone who knows me knows I'm particular about looking after my vehicles.
A lot of mechanical work was carried out in 2024 and I have the receipts for it, including suspension components, shocks/springs, top mounts and various arms, along with brake work. It's also been serviced during my ownership and is going in for another service now, so it'll be freshly serviced.
It's a 2.0 diesel, 6-speed manual, white with the tan/brown leather interior. Electric folding metal roof works as it should and transforms it from a proper coupe into a convertible. Everything together still makes it a really good-looking car.
Bodywork is very good for a 2012 car. There's just some light cosmetic paint damage on a small section of the front bumper and a small crack in one headlight lens that's hardly noticeable. Nothing hidden and I've photographed it.
I've had the car for six years because it's been a genuinely good car. I'm only considering changing it because my circumstances have changed and I no longer need it as my main everyday car, so I fancy something different
