Sell Price: £69,500
Description:
£69,500
offers welcomed......
been advised by an art dealer could be worth as much as 100k at auction. you can decide for yourself.
Must be removed/collected by the purchaser. Either with the base or leave the plinth/base, up to you.
prob easier to just take the statue as looks to have 2 old bolts holding it, i would guess cutting/grinding them off would be the easy option. Professional removal would be my advice for obvious reasons.
Massive Statue, Huge, over 7 feet tall approx, Stone/concrete on plinth. MASSIVE! Very Heavy. Solid.... would look great as a centre piece in a garden, pond/lake etc.
Personally it looks more gladiator or roman to me, BUT
I now i have found out it is a Jesus statue, the carpenter, commissioned for the ChristChurch in Peterborough. Called resurrection of man.
made around 1958 by Ollife Richmond, student of Henry Moore during 1949 & 1950.
similar style to the 50/60's Brutalism sculpture? You decide.... I know nothing about art.....
needs a clean, but i would rather it go as it..... That way you can clean etc yourself to your required standard.....
collection only.
You will need to remove/dig up load etc yourself or get a professional to do it.
It will be very very heavy. Leave the base if you wish, makes it easier to remove and i can work with the base in place if you don't want it.
This has been on my property for many many years (well over 20).
The previous owner of my house got it and it has been here ever since.
Location is in Pondersbridge, near to Peterborough. PE26
£69,500 offers welcomed.
swaps and px for cars/boats/property/land etc etc welcomed.
You are welcome to come and view in person of course, and see him for yourself.
Any questions, please message me.
remember this will need to be dug up and removed yourself, it is likely to need a hiab to lift, but thats down to the buyer..... you could leave the base if you wish as looks like it is bolted to the statue, making it easier to remove, although the bolts would need to be cut/sawed off i would think. Really would be best to come and see him in person.....
