This recreation was built in the 80's by Tom McBurnie using a ultra low mileage 1979 Corvette C3 as the donor car, 35 years ago this conversion cost around £50,000 without a corvette

Only 79 of these quality built recreations were made with the first one used in the Miami Vice Series!

Ferrari had a law suit out against Tom McBurnie because he used moulds off the original Ferrari 365 Daytona for his recreations, even down to the inside of the engine bay was identical.

The court's ordered that Mr McBurnie could not build any more Daytona replicas, by this time 79 cars had already been built with 21 moulds/kits remaining totalling to 100 altogether making the ones already built not prohibited.
