You are looking at a very clean, tidy FORD Escort Xr3i 1.8 Zetec 130BHP cabriolet.
It is LHD (Left-hand drive) and has recently been imported from Switzerland.

Weighing 1175kg the 1.8 130bhp 16v was quite impressive in the day and certainly fun to drive and very “analogue” as people call it now. No big screens, more a driver’s car.

The car was already clean and in good running condition, but since arriving in England, it has been treated to a full service including new battery, timing belt kit, water pump, new filters, oils, rear brake discs, and much more..

It passed the MOT without advisories and has a current MOT until the 26th of April 2025.

The work was undertaken with the idea that it would be a great car to travel Europe. Unfortunately, I don’t have time for this , but it would also suit somebody who has property in Europe.
The weather that has killed so many of these cars with rust here and it is far more original than many cars here. To my knowledge, the car has never had any Welding and doesn’t need any. Common areas that suffer such as the battery tray nice and clean and original.

It comes complete with some sales brochures, the original handbook, the emissions booklet to validate the mileage and many receipts for recent work undertaken.

The majority of the parts used are genuine for Parts too.

It has a matching set of tires in good condition (summer tires.)

I purchased a set of right hand drive headlights (for UK), but do have both sets depending on where the car ends up living.

The convertible roof is in fantastic condition and has recently had a treatment to ensure that it will last

To be transparent, I will list below the downsides:
Fabric rear side trims could do with re-sticking, the n/s rear side window has stopped working, There are a couple of small cigarette burns on the fabric of the seats, there are a few small marks and blemishes on the bodywork but as you can see, it is a very tidy car. There are a couple of small cracks on the front bumper. It is missing the tonneau cover for when the roof is down.

The 130 bhp Was a very rare car in the UK and is far more refined than the earlier models.

I would prefer to sell the car out right, But would consider a part exchange deal/swap if this helped. Classic or modern, LHD or RHD, Practical or impractical.
