Description:

2012 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce 2.0 JTDM-2 diesel. 12 months clean MOT to be completed at end of week (12/06/2026)
Sought after Nero Etna metallic black paint (really gorgeous colour, the pictures don’t do it justice), in great condition (the odd age related mark, but way better than 99% of giuliettas out there).
68 mpg (as stated by Alfa)
£35/year road tax
Top spec, everything works as it should.
Alfa does some of the nicest interiors for their class and this is no different, genuinely a lovely place to be!
Has the Alfa DNA system fully working. Placing the selector into ‘Dynamic’ mode makes the car behave in a more sporty fashion. All inputs are heightened: steering feel, throttle response and vehicle control systems. With the switch in ‘Normal’ for everyday driving, you’ll find fuel consumption is reduced to a minimum whilst offering a smooth and comfortable drive. In ‘All Weather’ mode the Giulietta alerts all active safety systems – the response of the engine becomes more gradual and cautious.
Partial service history with every stamp in book until 2021 and then a bit patchy, but has been fully serviced and really well maintained.

Owned for the last five years by my brother who, with a change of job, got a new car or he’d of kept it. Known to be mainly motorway miles as my brother lives in Selby and commuted to Harrogate everyday for work, so runs great. The car was well loved so, I jumped at the chance to buy it for my boy who just turned 19. Had all work done to make sure it stays super reliable (see list below) and in tiptop condition. But insurance is too expensive for him (£5.5k which is totally unrealistic) so he’s sticking with his Corsa 1.2 as he’s off to uni in September.

Recent works:

Front discs, pads and calliper.
New intercooler, there was a pinhole leak on the original, discovered at full mechanical inspection. Turbo checked for play at same time and all good!
New Exide 096 start stop battery.
New oil pickup in sump, know fault on these so fitted with upgraded part as preventative measure (original part still here as proof)
New gasket for vacuum pump and filler neck, had a very minor oil leak on previous MOT, so wanted it found and fixed.
Full oil and filter service
Four new Goodyear tyres.
New rear springs
Replaced 2 parking sensors (common fault).
Full 12 months MOT in for the end of week with any advisories repaired.
Anything it’s needed has been done.

Only things that let it down are the floor mats are a bit tatty, the screwdriver is missing from the original tool kit in boot and it will be due a cambelt in 14,000 miles, there’s an invoice from 92,000 for £180 for one in the service history so not a big or expensive job. I will get cambelt done for the right swap if it’s a deal breaker, but the mechanic I use is stacked out with work at the minute, so would likely cause a delay. Finally the wheels have a bit of curb rash and would not hurt for a refurb, or personally if I was keeping it, I’d of of just run them until a set of ti or cloverleaf wheels came up for sale as I’ve always liked those and they’d likely cost less than a refurb. There’s age related marks (the most notable being the common Alfa lacquer peal on a couple of spots on the front wing and the bottom front lip on one side) but the bodywork and interior are better than pretty much any other Alfa you’ll see and the underside, according to the MOT tester, is in great shape. Will have the rear wiper centre position reset by the mot garage too.

Conclusion:

Great looking car, lovely interior, drives great, plenty of power but still cheep to run and tax. Like owning a Golf/Astra/Focus, just with the Italian style, flare and kudos of it being an Alfa Romeo owner! Super reliable despite being an Alfa, check out the MOT history on it, never had any problems and anything that potentially could cause issues has been preemptively dealt with as you can see. I’ve got loads more pictures if there’s anything else you’d want and any questions or viewings more than welcome.

That said obviously sold as seen with no warranty given or implied, however if my boy could have afforded the insurance I’d of had no hesitation in giving him this car as I know it’s sorted!

Swaps for anything under 1,000kg that would make a good tow car for my T4 motorhome.
Looking at anything from a Smart Roadster Coupe to a Suzuki Kei truck or Bedford Rascal. Mk1 or Mk2 golf, early caddy, Suzuki Jimny or SJ, possibly a decent kit cars or an mr2 mk1? I’d even consider an Audi A2 if it came with working indicators! The more interesting the better really, so any ideas just give me a shout. Ideally looking for something I can put my boy on the jnssurance for so he gets experience of driving other cars, so nothing too fast. Cash up or down depending on what you’re proposing, happy with a cheeper part-ex but happy to put some cash in for the right car.

Thanks

Paul

I want to swap for

A tow car for behind my motorhome: ie. smart roaster coupe, Honda beat, Diahatsu copen, Suzuki cappuccino or something along those lines. Possibly a jimny or sj Suzuki would work too, or even some sort of classic that’s below a ton, so if you have any suggestions feel free to give me a shout!
