This car has been brilliant and I’ve probably missed a load of stuff, it starts on the button everytime and doesn’t skip a beat. It’s very quick and surprisingly puts the power down quite easily. This car easily rivals newer cars. Everything is tight, there are no knocks or squeaks when it comes to the suspension set up. I had the car fully dialled when it came to the Coilover set up so it sits nicely and doesn’t scrape when going over speed bumps. The got a full MOT in February so it had quite a long way to go until its next one.
The Previous owner took the car on a few Euro trips and he said it didn’t fail him once.
The shell of the car is probably around 170k it’s difficult to say because the clocks have been changed a few times due to the conversion.
Body wise this car has had an extensive amount of work done welding wise in my ownership. The first bit to tackle was the front driver side floor. A previous owner must have attempted a patch up job which was shocking however I got it cut out and replaced with a new jacking point and the surrounding areas were fabricated. The front corner sill was also replaced and fabricated to a brilliant standard, you wouldn’t even know it was replaced. There were small holes around the body that were also patched but if you want to see any of the work I have the photos so saves me from writing it all down. Overall it’s had all major rust work done, the car is a bit scabby in places but nothing to worry about as I got the main things sorted.
Now I’ll mention the things that could be sorted. The headliner is missing as the previous owner took it out due to it sagging but it never really bothered me to put a new one in. The headunit does not work and also there are no speakers in the car. The previous owner had a sound system in it however they removed it before the sale. The window wipers are intermittent, sometimes they turn on by themselves however I just take the fuse out when it gets annoying. Also there’s not much history with the car at all but this didn’t bother me as I saw the condition of the car and the conversion.
