Ram cobra Shelby ac 350 Chevy
Location: South East England - Bognor Regis
Swap Value: £25.000+
Description:
Welcome to the sale of my 1971 Ram SC Cobra,
The original base car was a 1971 Jaguar XJ6 so Jag rear axle with LSD and inboard brakes etc.
The ram Cobras are highly regarded as one of the best replicas available and to my knowledge were the only ones actually endorsed by the legend that was “Carroll Shelby” (apparently he knew a thing or two about cobras!)
The Cobra was purchased new in kit form in 1990 and first put on the road in 1992, there is a mountain of receipt’s for parts purchased and services used and from studying this it seems pretty much every part was new or anything that wasn’t were stripped & rebuilt. There is also a great following for these cars so any spares etc you should require are easily sourced etc. the car has covered just under 7000 miles since completion in 1992 but has been enjoyed by its 2 previous owners so naturally has some minor imperfections and marks here and there but i personally think these give the car character and suit the race car look. The car was plain with no stickers when i got it but i felt it needed that aggressive look (all stickers are easily removable if not to your taste)
The power plant chosen for this example is the 5.7 litre 350cui small block Chevy which really does it proud by offering plenty of punch & a great noise whether your just cruising or letting the ponies run wild! (The engine was built to make a safe 350bhp, there is a reciept for the build in with all the paperwork) Being a Chevy there is great parts availability and a host of performance should you wish for more. the car has recently had a new heavy duty clutch & flywheel, new master cylinder, core plugs replaced, new plugs and all fluids changed, 4 new tyres last month. It’s a real beast of a car to drive, no modern electronic tripe to throw up warning lights and cause grief. No abs, no traction control, no power steering just you, the open road a beautiful V8 soundtrack to keep you company!
The car comes with wet weather gear, Perspex sliding windows and also a zip up 50/50 tonneau cover
I could waffle on and on but it’s probably best to make your own mind up. I genuinely love this car and so does my dad but due to illness he struggles to get in and out of it so could do with a bigger yank vehicle (Chevelle, road runner, mustang maybe?)
But anything considered
