Toyota Starlet Glanza V

Location: East Midlands - Loughborough
Swap Value: £3.000+

Description:

With regret, I'm offering for swaps/sale my Toyota Starlet Glanza V with fresh MOT ticket till June 2019.

I'm 6'1 and find the car a little bit too small for me otherwise I'd keep it !

No advisories except an oil leak.
The car is on 246k km (approx 150k miles) however it spent most of it's life as auto so engine has been under low stress for most of it's life. Manual LSD gearbox was installed last year. Still 100% mechanically fine, mileage reflects Toyota reliability. I change the oil every 3000km and overall has been looked after very well. Imported as they were never sold outside of Japan. IIRC, it was imported in 2009.

It's 205 Black - factory colour with gold sparkle.

Spec List:

- CT9 Hybrid turbo custom built by Midland Turbo with billet bearing shaft and bigger grooved fins,
- Zisco Ramhorn manifold,
- Rare Roadrunner split decat pipe
- Cusco LSD manual gearbox,
- Magnecor RED HT Leads
- Iridium NGK Spark Plugs
- Miester R adjustable coilovers,
- Powerflex polymer bushes,
- Rare JDM RSR Adjustable Panard Rod
- Drilled brake discs.
- Rare JDM Enkei RS split lightweight alloys.

Optional extras:

- Pioneer Carrozzeria light up rear parcel shelf speakers
- Rear boot Strut Brace with all plastics,
- Chrome Handles
- Gold Toyota badge

Most importantly, the car is solid above and underneath with no rust whatsoever! I periodically take skirts off when washing the car to ensure it doesn't develop in my ownership.

The car feels super tight and nimble around bends and sticks to the ground extremely well with the help of LSD gearbox. Turbo starts getting boost at around 2k rpm, with full boost coming in at around 3.5-4k rpm at 14-15 psi! With a mapped ECU and Walbro higher pressure fuel pump and higher cc injectors if very fussy, next owner will see easily over 200bhp. My GUESS right now is it's running around a safe 160-170bhp which is still a considerable amount for a 950 kg car.

Perfect choice of car for someone looking to learn/get into working on their own cars and understanding how performance components effect the parameters of a combustion engine/handling. It's been a pleasure to work on and unlike other imports, parts/upgrades are cheap and readily available. These can safely achieve up to 250bhp on stock internals and over 350bhp with forged internals. Just to give an idea of what these motors are capable of, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSZ5Ffgh1RA

Only negatives are:

- Oil leak as mentioned on MOT test. I think it's leaking from sump.
- Plated LSD is quiet noisy as it's designed for track use. I can recommend a different transmission fluid which will make things smoother and quieter with the compromise of a little less grip.
- Few minor battle scars but still cleans up extremely well.

Got some service history and receipts, I've spent a few quid on this car.

Cash sale would be £3000 on Enkei RS wheels and £2700 on standard wheels - no offers, prices given are in consideration of borderline high mileage and negative points.

I'd consider swapping with a E46 330CD similar or something jap and unique. Try me.. Can add some nice extras for the right car that I didn't get around to fitting like a big cannon Blitz NUR Spec Exhaust system, Electronic Boost Controller and some other sought after items.
